As a matter of general principle, I like to take any opportunity that presents itself for a shameless plug. Thus, horror fans and LARPers, I would like to introduce y’all to our new venture: Katie Fruitrock & Les Enfants Terribles.

Small but perfectly formed, the joy of Mayfest
by Boo! Hart
Once you’ve scrabbled out of your sleeping bag, defeated in the fight of will over bladder, having visited the site’s porta-loos you look up to see the mist rolling up the hill and the sunshine starting it’s struggle to break through, it’s easy to forget that 21st century exists.

This is Mayfest.

To Wikipedia, or Not to Wikipedia?
by Ryan Paddy
Ryan Paddy takes a look at how this awesome resource can apply to larpers...

For some years now I've had a growing interest in the internet miracle that is Wikipedia. Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia found at www.wikipedia.org that can be edited by anyone with internet access. This is such a clearly ludicrous idea, and yet so demonstrably successful, that it has been said that "the problem with Wikipedia is that it only works in practice. In theory, it can never work."

Larpers who cant be bothered
by Wayne Bates
I love Larp. As some one who started with tabletop back when I was Nine , larp seems a natural progression to me and I took to it with relish. But through the years I have found to my shock and horror that this wonderful hobby of mine has other people doing it who frankly can't be bothered to do it properly.

Unreality: The Tournament 2007
by the LARP Aid Team
This year’s LARP Aid was somewhat of a shock to the system, and all in a good way! On the 3rd and 4th of March, much to the LARP Aid team’s surprise, 57 LARPers turned up to take part in the charity tournament being held at Brynamlwg, Penglais, Aberystwyth. Cars began to unload kit, food and items for sale on various stalls, and people started to nose around our brand new venue – a large, cosy-feeling cottage on the edge of the University campus...

An Introduction to Legacy
by James
We believe in a strong campaign story arch. This does not mean players have little chance of impacting the campaign, in fact the opposite is true, and a single player can completely alter the course of a campaign! We also heavily focus on character development. Through intense and challenging personal plot, we hope that players find hidden depths to their character not usually discovered in other systems.

Dealing with the Media
by Ryan Paddy
How is LARP portrayed in the media? Two undesirable themes are common. The first is a “geeks and freaks” approach where the pastime and participants are made to look as silly as possible. This approach is played for laughs. The second is an “out of touch with reality” angle, where the hobby is depicted as an escape for people unhappy with their daily lives who really believe that they are their characters, or worse as some sort of occultism. This angle is played for fear. Even in otherwise decent articles, a shadow of one of these two spins often creeps in.

An Introduction to Brighton Below
by Dark Light LRP
In the dark he crouched, waiting.

Footsteps from a tunnel above echoed down the vent in which he had hidden himself away. He didn’t know who they were. They could be friendly, but its was more likely they were not.

The Fishers were known to hunt in this territory, and their booby traps had been the death of many an Undersider.

Seaxe & Sorcery Review

Seaxe & Sorcery, THE system to be in!

Recently Seaxe & Sorcery ran a full five day LARP event. It was a great experience to say the least, and well worth the price they charge. Especially when you consider that it includes food and that at £60 it is only slightly more expensive than some larger systems charge for a weekend!
